Partially ordered sets and Bratteli diagrams

Associate Professor Sergii Bezuglyi

Abstract: Hasse diagrams are used to visualize finite (or countable) partially ordered sets (posets). Under some additional conditions, Hasse diagrams can be viewed as standard or generalized Bratteli diagrams. In particular, the class of r-differential posets (like the Young diagram) can be studied in terms of Incidence matrices of the corresponding Bratteli diagrams. This approach allows us to apply the technique developed for Bratteli diagrams to the study of posets. We consider various examples of posets and find invariant measures for the tail equivalence relations.
