Gauge dynamics from bitstrings

Abstract: I introduce lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and the challenges to use this ab-initio theory for real-time evolution in event generators for collider physics. The lattice Abelian Higgs model in 1+1 dimensions is a simple model involving gauge and matter and a string dynamics resembling the Lund model used for the Pythia event generator. I discuss a spin-1 approximation for the electric field which can be realized approximately with superconducting devices and arrays of Rydberg atoms. I report on remote operation of QuEra for a ladder or Rubidium atoms and the properties of the collected bitstrings when the size of the ladder increases. I discuss the errors on the mutual information (a lower bound on the entanglement entropy) and magnetic observables depending on the local Rydberg occupations. I report on progress toward extending the model in 2+1 dimensions with plaquette interactions.
